As one of our dedicated dental hygienists, Melissa’s main goal is to help you lead a healthier life. After her own experience as a dental patient, she realized the vital connection between oral health and overall well-being, earning her degree in Dental Hygiene from Fayetteville Technical Community College. Melissa joined the Genesis Dental family in 2024 and loves being part of a supportive team that uses the latest technology to make patient care better. Outside the office, she enjoys home renovation projects, hiking, and attending her children’s sporting events. She loves spending time with her cats, Sushi and Nori, and her dog, Chief.
Karol

Karolys, a.k.a. “Karol,” is one of the first friendly faces you’ll meet, and she is here to make your visit as smooth as possible. With education from the University of Zulia in Venezuela and the Triangle Dental Assisting School, she has a background in both teaching and advanced dental care. Karol joined the practice in 2022, drawn to the amazing team atmosphere. She is your guide for scheduling, creating financial plans, and navigating all the details of your insurance. Outside the office, Karol enjoys traveling, hiking, and exploring new restaurants. Her favorites include La Buena Vida and Esteamed Coffee, a local shop that employs individuals with disabilities.

Mai’s passion is ensuring every part of your visit is seamless and supportive. Born in Tokyo, Japan, she earned her degree from CSU, Northridge, and has advanced training from the Nash Institute. She also serves as a dedicated patient care coordinator for our Japanese-speaking patients, ensuring they feel completely at home. Mai met Dr. Leedy while he was stationed in Japan with the Navy and joined the practice in 2020 to support him and the local Japanese community. After a decade of marriage, they love working together. Outside the office, Mai trains for triathlons, practices yoga, and enjoys running with their dog, Jasper.
