Gentle Teeth Cleanings

With Guided Bio Film Therapy

Dental cleanings have historically involved a somewhat uncomfortable plaque-removing process. Thankfully, our team is one of only two offices in Cary that has received certification in Guided Biofilm Therapy, which allows us to offer you a more comfortable teeth cleaning.

Why Professional Cleanings Matter

You brush and floss diligently, which is fantastic! However, even the most dedicated oral care can’t reach every nook and cranny in your mouth.

Professional dental cleanings can help you:

  • Protect against cavity-causing bacteria.
  • Prevent and manage gingivitis and periodontitis.
  • Remove plaque and buildup of bacteria that causes halitosis.

What is Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT)?

GBT is used during routine cleanings with EMS AirFlow technology to remove all the bacteria in your mouth that may contribute to tooth decay and gum disease.

Time for a Cleaning?

The simple answer is: Yes, probably!

For most people, we recommend a professional dental cleaning every six months. This allows us to effectively remove plaque and tartar before it causes significant problems.

However, if you have a history of gum disease, are undergoing orthodontic treatment (braces), or have certain medical conditions, we might recommend more frequent visits.

Only The Best for Your Smile

We understand that for some, the thought of a dental cleaning can bring to mind less-than-comfortable experiences with traditional plaque removal. That’s why we’re dedicated to bringing you the very best in patient care. Don’t settle for less when it comes to your comfort and health.

FAQ's

Anyone, even patients with dental restorations, can undergo this treatment without concerns. It is completely safe for veneers, crowns, bridges, and implants.

Most dental insurance plans cover a portion or the entirety of preventative treatments, like teeth cleanings. We recommend checking with your insurance provider directly. Our administrative team is also happy to assist you with any insurance queries.

Professional cleanings can remove surface stains that are caused by food and drinks, which can make your teeth appear noticeably brighter. However, they don’t change the actual colour of your teeth like teeth whitening treatments would.
